Continuing for a further 17 Miles on A1079 brings us to the city walls in York. Heading on into the City via "Infinity Motorcycles" we park up and have a while browsing in York. Crossing the Ouse via "Lendal Bridge", we can circumnavigate on the inner ring road to the South of the City, ready to start the return leg.

The return journey could be a retracing of the outward journey or, if time permits, leaving York heading South on the A19 towards Selby and left onto the A63 at Barlby, crossing the Ouse at Boothferry Bridge: into Goole and via Crowle to the A18, crossing the River Trent at Keadby. The A18 thereafter takes us to Brigg and Barnetby Top and The Fox Inn via the B1211.

Dean, Simon, Stuart & David

We left the Fox Inn at 09:30 and travelled over the Humber Bridge and A63 to Dewtons Farm Shop and Restaurant, arriving at 10:05, just after they has opened for the day.

Stuart expressed his concern that the venue was a bit refined for motorcylists but the arrival of breakfast appeared to assuage this. Leaving here at about 10:45 we continued on to the A1079 to York, which seemed to consist of an inordinate amount of road-works.

Infinity Motorcycles kept the group happy browsing and shopping for several minutes, then we travelled around the inner ring road (via Morrisons for fuel) to the top of Gillygate and the car-park which had some very easily accessible parking.

A walk to the Minster and Low Petergate where the "Happy Days" cafe provided coffee and cake. Whilst the bulk of the party ordered cake, Simon elected for toast; only to be disappointed that the cake was accompanied by ice cream and once again he was missing out.

Leaving York at a little after 14:00 we returned, retracing the outbound route, and all back home just before the rain, hail (and 4 horsemen of the apocalypse) arrived.
